Mozilla Launches New Version of Firefox Home iPhone App
September 20, 2010, 2:34 pmMozilla announced that its Firefox Home app is now available in more languages worldwide. Firefox Home lets iPhone and iPod Touch users sync their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks, andopen tabs to their mobile device.
Users can use the app to search, open links in Safari, email the URL, or copy the URL.
New features of Firefox Home include:
- Worldwide Availability: Use Firefox Home in 15 languages
- URL Search Bar: Want to visit a website that’s not in your bookmarks or history? Only remember part of the URL? You can now type the site’s URL into the Search Bar and Firefox Home will take you there.
- Custom Servers: Advanced users can now set up Firefox Home to connect to their own custom Firefox Sync servers.<
"If you use Firefox 3.6 on your desktop, you’ll need to install the Firefox Sync Add-on and set up a Firefox Sync account to synchronize your desktop data with your iPhone, " Mozilla notes.
Supported languages include: English, German, Italian, Polish, Czech, Russian, French, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Sinhala, Catalan, and Turkish.
