Twitter Gets Hacked by "Iranian Cyber Army"
December 18, 2009, 7:34 amTwitter was hacked last night, and when users went to Twitter.com, they were presented with a message from someone claiming to be the Iranian Cyber Army. TutorialsTips has posted a video on YouTube showing what Twitter looked like as it was compromised.
The message from this so-called Iranian Cyber Army said:
U.S.A. Think They Controlling And Managing Internet By Their Access, But THey Don’t, We Control And Manage Internet By Our Power, So Do Not Try To Stimulation Iranian Peoples TO
...........
NOW WHICH COUNTRY IN EMBARGO LIST? IRAN? USA?
WE PUSH THEM IN EMBARGO LIST ;)
Take Care.
They even left a Gmail address: iRANiAN.CYBER.ARMY@gmail.com
Twitter tweeted on the subject:

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone followed that up with a message on the Twitter blog:

It's really quite amazing how vulnerable Twitter seems to be even as it grows into such a large part of pop culture. We recently discussed some other issues, such as the frequent appearance of the "Fail Whale," and whether or not Twitter is ready for mainstream real-time search. Security problems continue to plague the service as well. Twittercism has some good tips for protecting yourself the next time Twitter gets hacked.
